It was a sunny September morning in Dallas, I, a doe-eyed graduate of the University of North Texas, had just finished my second interview with TracyLocke a few days prior. On this day, I was going to pick up my portfolio from their office. Back then, we all had physical books—mine was a forty-pound portfolio case, just so you know. But I digress… When I called, the receptionist politely told me that I would have to pick it up another time as they were currently evacuating the building. The 11th seemed like any other day until she told me what had happened. 

I never imagined I would get that job after what had happened. But I did. And it’s a big reason why I’ve stayed for nearly twenty years. I’ve learned not to take opportunities for granted. But staying didn’t mean staying stagnant. In that time, I sharpened my craft on brands like Pizza Hut, Pepsi, 7-Eleven, Tabasco, Ingersoll Rand, Harrah’s Entertainment, Visit Dallas, Schlage, Nokia, 24 Hour Fitness and T-Mobile. I’ve touched every medium from print, digital, out-of-home, apps, direct mail, TV, radio and experiential, and have racked up a few awards along the way. 

I am currently the Creative Director on T-Mobile. When I’m not focused on the “Un-carrier” I’m spending time with my beautiful wife of 18 years, Katie, and our 2 amazing daughters, Ava (13) and Ella (10). I also enjoy nerding out: listening to The Cure, playing old-school Mario Kart with my daughters, searching for the perfect pancake recipe and collecting old typewriters. Don’t judge, Tom Hanks does it too.  

I also spent two years teaching as an Adjunct Professor for the University of North Texas Advertising Portfolio class.
